It’s hard to believe that spring is just around the corner! If you have little ones, this likely means more time spent outside the house at playdates, grandma’s or at the park on sunny days. Sometimes, it’s the little things in life that make the biggest difference.
We’ve all heard this adage before and while it’ easy to overlook the small miracles that life brings our way, the saying holds true in so many ways. It could be the unexpected flowers you received from your husband or boyfriend ‘just because’, the clean warm sheets that smell perfectly wonderful out of the dryer (when you’re ready to jump back into bed on a rainy Sunday) or something as simple as catching the train right on time and getting a seat on your way to work. Whatever the case may be, it’s these little things that can help make your day just a little brighter.
For me, one of those ‘little things’ includes my daily morning ritual. Early in the day, I’m the only one awake and all is still in the house. It’s in those moments, when I get to slip on my fuzzy foamtreads slippers, sip on my first morning coffee and listen to the quietness of the morning that I feel a sense of calm. It’s the coming-together of all those elements – the smell and taste of the coffee, the touch of my foamtreads keeping my feet warm and cozy and the quiet stillness of the morning – that lead to my little miracle every day. Sometimes it’s these little things that can help make our day just a little better and in my case, what gets my day off to a good start.
